This charming restaurant masterfully blends traditional Guerrero flavors with fresh, vibrant ingredients, offering a menu that caters both to those seeking hearty local dishes and guests desiring lighter, health-conscious options.
Start your morning with their irresistible Chilaquiles, available in several mouthwatering varieties such as Chilaquiles Rojos con Arrachera and Chilaquiles Verdes con Huevo, each plate bursting with rich, smoky sauces and tender, perfectly cooked meats or eggs. The Enchiladas Pibil and Enchiladas Suizas deliver a full-bodied depth of flavors, exuding warmth and tradition in every bite. For those craving something versatile and fresh, the Baguettes Terracita and Baguette Arrachera offer satisfyingly flavorful options, complemented by crisp salads and well-seasoned accompaniments.
The breakfast spread is nothing short of spectacular. Favorites such as Huevos Benedictinos and Omelette Pesadito showcase delicate textures and bold tastes, while dishes like the hefty French toast (Pan Francés Mixto) invite sharing and indulgence. Don’t miss the refreshing Licuado de Chocolate, a smooth chocolate shake that perfectly pairs with the savory dishes.
Guests consistently praise the generous portion sizes and the attentive, gracious service that makes each visit feel special. Several reviewers highlight the friendly waitstaff who ensure you’re treated royally, as well as the relaxed yet lively atmosphere enhanced by pleasant live music. The large windows and beachfront location promise continuing views that elevate the overall dining experience, though the popular spot does tend to draw crowds eager for a table with a view.
Patrons also appreciate the thoughtful inclusion of dietary options, including gluten-free dishes, allowing more guests to enjoy the sumptuous flavors. While some dishes like the salad might run on the saltier side, the overall balance of tastes and freshness more than compensates. Whether you’re indulging in the perfectly spiced fish tacos or sharing the iconic chilaquiles over morning coffee, La Terracita creates a memorable tasting journey deeply tied to Zihuatanejo’s coastal charm.
In short, La Terracita is a must-visit destination for anyone craving genuine Mexican breakfast fare with an unbeatable oceanfront ambiance. The combination of vibrant flavors, generous servings, and warm hospitality makes it a delightful culinary jewel on Playa Principal that guests are eager to return to time and again.

Went for breakfast. I had “native eggs” and it was great. My wife had a fruit plate also great. Big portions. Great views. It seemed we had 3 or 4 very attentive waiters and all treated us royally. I would absolutely eat here again
Great view! The breakfast was amazing! We both had very happy mouths. Will be going back to check out our dinner options before we leave
This is probably one of the best places to get a good local breakfast. The menu has good choices if you’re into healthy eating but also has a wide variety of typical Guerrero eats. Mornings are pretty busy so getting your food can take a bit of a wait. It’s also hard to get a table with ocean view so that’s why the wait can be long. The food is good though and it’s one the the best coco flans I’ve had. Also I had dinner there (a cheeseburger) and it was delicious
One of the best breakfasts in Zihua. I appreciate the gluten free options. Such tasty dishes. The ambiance was terrific. Attentive staff, beautiful space and pleasant live music. We will definitely be repeat customers.
This is a beautiful restaurant off the beach. Many friends of mine enjoyed their meals. We had baguettes and these had great flavor. The "asadero" was well worth it. The salad was extremely salty so it was hard to eat. The French toast is shareable. It's quite a big dish. The staff was friendly and very attentive too. We were a large party and we all were well taken care of. We hope to revisit in the future.
Would have given 5 stars. Food and service was great. Here’s the downside- they charge a 5% premium to use a credit card (they say they give a 5% discount for cash- same thing) but get this- THEY CHARGED US FOR TO GO BOXES! At what point is it the price of doing business?
One of the best breakfast/lunch place in Zihua! Great food and service but also some of the best views of the bay as you are above ground right in the middle of the bay. Often with a nice breeze as you enjoy your meal with some fresh fruit juices...
As most locals do l'm starting breakfast with a pastry of some form. In this case a coconut pastry bar and then onto the entree of Pobretones which are scrambled eggs with pieces of fried tortilla, topped with red sauce, cream, cotija cheese, onion, cilantro, and served with refried beans with chorizo and house-made tortillas. The view is fantastic here. Excellent food, service, reasonable prices and this view. No doubt l'll be there a few times.
